Why are my MD State Tax refund taking so long?

Asked by: 2389 views Finance - Taxes

My MD State taxes were accepted on January 19. They said it takes 5-7 days from that date to receive your refund, but I have yet to receive my refund. I have two friends who filed at the same time I did and they have received their refunds. We all chose direct deposit. All of my information is correct so I don’t know why I haven’t received my refund yet.
I do know there are no guarantees as to when I will receive my refund, but I am just curious as to why I haven’t received my refund when two of my friends and I filed at the same time and all of ours were accepted by the state on the same day.

  • why is my federal refund taking so long 2012

Tax returns are processed as received, in no specific order. Seven days is only two days ago. Did you think that the time frame offered is some sort of guaranteed time frame ? It’s not.

thats because most states have decided not to deposit until after the 1st of FEB… just be happy ur not in California or Hawaii… they’ve decided not to issue state refunds until august
