My mum works for a teaching agency and is on a short term contract at a school. Her payslip always comes back with, under company deductions, HMRC payment NIERS. What is this payment for?

    Apparently this is the Employer’s National Insurance contribution. This only seems to appear on wage slips that are issued, not by the employer, but by a separate wages company, when you are working as a temporary employee.

    I do not believe this answer ‘Apparently this is the Employer’s National Insurance contribution’ to be true as it is deducted from my hourly earnings.
