So i Owe NC back Taxes for 2001-2002 tax season and just got a levy on my bank acct and a wage garnishment?

where do i go to help me get this settled and what can i do to get them off my back for a while till i can pay back the full amount?

Your local bank *might* allow you an unsecured loan.

As for getting them off your back for a while, it was called setting up an installment agreement to pay the first time they contacted you. Once it gets to the levy/garnishment state, all bets are off.

By the way, the taxes, but not the interest or penalties, can be used as an itemized deduction on your federal return in the year you pay it.

You’ve owed them for ten years. Getting them off your back “for a while” isn’t going to do anyone any good.

There’s nothing you can do other than pay the back taxes.

Contact the number on the notice you received. You may have waited too long to appeal, but it won’t hurt to call North Carolina Department of Revenue to see if you can work out an agreement.

You’ve had TEN YEARS to pay them in full and haven’t, so now they’re playing hardball. “Get them odd your back for awhile? How much time do you expect them to give you? You’ve had 10 years.

To get it settled you’d have to pay what you owe. Otherwise, they’re taking it.
