Microsoft Security Essential popped up and said I had 3 diff. virus, I don’t even have MSE.?

Asked by: 93 views Computer Security

The Microsoft Security Essentials window that popped up misspelled WITH,
so suspecting a virus I closed the tab and deleted temporary internet files etc.
Should I look for these viruses or was that a hoax?
MSE didn’t come on my computer, I don’t use any anti-virus program.

it’s very likely a hoax trying to get you to buy something you don’t want or need but don’t just ignore it you still may have some malware on you computer I suggest you scan (just in case) for viruses and with a malware scanner such as malwarebytes anti malware you can get that for free here http://www.malwarebytes.org/
