Is this a virus, or am I just out of the loop?

Asked by: 3297 views Computer Security

I just had a little notification pop up saying that an attempt was blocked to install a toolbar or something like that.

I went up to the searchbar, not thinking, typed in my qwery and just as I hit enter, I realized it wasn’t doing a search through google- there was an icon with a shield and black exclamation point. It took me to findamo.com

I don’t know if this is some new company I just haven’t heard of, but right now, I have my doubts.
I haven’t been able to find out anything about it, and firefox is no help. I’d have to do backflips just to talk to someone.
Basically, does anyone have any knowledge of findamo and if it is most likely a virus, what steps should i take next.

On the findamo site, under FAQs, it said the following:

That’s all I have to say.

Thank you.
Ah, you may be right.
I had to install a program yesterday to complete a project.
I also just switched to Avira antivirus, so I had to install that as well.

Thank you
