He’s lying, because things don’t just ‘download themselves’. I hope that I helped.

That can actually happen. Alot of sites put malware and download things in the background while you may be looking at other sites. You might want to update your anti-virus software.

That is not possible unless you have a virus but most likely it’s your son doing it he’s just at the age

He could be telling the truth. Viruses can be downloaded without your permission and implant themselves into ordinary files as pornography. Happened to my friends’ computer. He was going to open up a game on his computer and a bunch of porno pics were there and AVG detected them as viruses.

That’s the best excuse for porn on the PC yet! Lol that’s impossible, and if a program really was putting itself on your computer without permission, it’s illegal. Good luck with the boys :) looks like someone’s in trouble.

You should tell him to learn how to lie better, cause that’s just ridiculous.

Don’t blame him though. Teenage boy with access to a computer and privacy = porn 94% of the time. It’s just how it works.

Also saves you from the sex talk.

I have not heard nor read of ANY virus, malware, worm, spyware, hidden background services, root kits etc… that will download specific porn somewhere onto your computer just like that.

Look, just thinking about coding a virus like that gives me a head-ache. The only way something like that could happen, and it was not done by him, is if he was careless enough to download something like the dark-comet, or any other “virus” that renders your computer accessible to a remote system anywhere in the world as long as it is connected to the internet. But chances of that are only to increase depending on how little or how much your son knows about the dangers of going into pornographic websites and such.

Most people are really careless when surfing the web, it is almost sad.

He most likely downloaded that himself.

    Good luck parenting.

is possible if you have a virus

and the purpose of a virus … well there are tons and it can be as simple as downloading porn, or opening websites. the whole idea is that it has compromised your computer in the sense that it is executing a script and doing something (whatever that something is)… that something is not always serious stuff like deleting files, cause system to go slow, copy itself, etc.

Porn does not just download itself. What on earth would be the point of a virus that does that? Gives you free porn? Not likely. If he said it was distributing porn I might believe him.

Theres nothing wrong with a teenager watching porn, its actually a normal healthy part of sexual development but why lie about it? Everyone knows it didnt download itself, buddy, you look less of an idiot if you just admit it. You think no one else thinks about sex? How’d you think you got here?

He may not be lying, there ARE lots of “drive by” malware that can download and re-direct links to pornographic material.

But on a personal note, what kind of parent puts something like this up on a site just to prove a point and humiliate your son?… like you have never had sex or looked at porn huh?… I suppose talking to him about it like mom/dad to son didn’t occur to you?

You can find the time and date of the file download.
You can find who was logged onto the computer at the time of the download.

Have to say that downloading porn is risky business. High risk for
getting malware. High risk of getting caught by your mom or worse…
Likely it was a free download but it is possible it was purchased.

Most likely it was intentionally downloaded by someone who had access
    to the computer in question.

“Drive-by downloads” are capable of anything under the sun.
Unmodified browsers have this weakness, but it’s especially prevalent with Internet Explorer.
Don’t expect evil at every turn your son makes, but you can expect evil from those who manipulate the liberal allowances of browsers when on the Internet.

He may not be lying at all. It’s possible that a virus can download porn from a website that was visited. He’s just curious about sex at his age. Take the time to have “that” Birds and the Bees discussion with him if you haven’t already. He has questions that should be answered. If he’s a young teen, then this is pretty normal behavior for boys and girls that age.
