    This depends on all kinds of things but I have seen taxpayer REFUND amounts that have been reduced by a few hundred dollars once they do get through with taking all of the fees and charges that are charged and paid for each service and the loan interest when an advance loan amount is received for this purpose.
    Go to your state tax department of revenue website and choose individual taxpayer and look for free filing assistance and maybe you can find something available there.
    Your state website may have some information available to you about some local free volunteer sites in your area if you check on it after the end of the year 2011 during the 2012 tax filing season when they would have information available about the locations and the hours of operations for this purpose.
    You can try for some FREE face to face assistance by using the below enclosed information for this purpose.
    After the middle of January you could try locating some FREE face to face tax assistance by using the below enclosed information when the site information times will become available around the end of January 2012 for this purpose and time in your life.
    As part of the TCE program, AARP offers the Tax-Aide free tax preparation program at over 6,000 sites nationwide during the filing season. Trained and certified AARP Tax-Aide volunteers provide assistance to taxpayers with low-to-moderate income, with special attention paid to those 60 and older.
    Locations and hours of operation are often available through city information hotlines and local community organizations.
    10. Local VITA site information is also available at http://www.irs.gov or by calling the IRS toll-free number 1-800-906-9887. To locate the nearest AARP Tax-Aide site, call 1-888-227-7669 (888-AARPNOW) or visit www aarp.org.

    If its a simple tax form do it yourself.
    anyone with a half a brain can do the easy.
    If you have a lot of deductions for say medical then ask HR Block just
    call them they can give you an estimate on the phone.

    I did mine online at H & R Block.
    Federal Return prepared and sent to IRS for Free.
    State Return prepared and sent to Pa State for :
    $ 27.00 if paid now using debit / credit card
    $ 27.00 + $ 33.00 if paid when refund is issued.

    Truth: you should go there and do the Federal Return for free. Then sit down and do the state at home “Old_School” .. … paper form method.

    I did mine Federal & State on Jan 20 and was given the IRS date of Feb 7 for the elec. transfer into my account.

    I understand they are really slow this year because many ppl actually owe taxes this year and is slowing them down considerably. Allow three weeks online … allow the full six weeks if mailed in.
