Help with security issue?

Asked by: 15 views Computer Security

Someone used my yahoo account e-mail address and contacted my financial advisor requesting wire transfer of funds from my account. E-mail indicated that it was sent this morning (9/17) from my I- pad. It was not sent by me nor was it sent from my I-pad which has been in my possession.

Change your password. If you use a desktop, laptop or windows PC run some virus scans, and disable all of your browser add-ons. Set up your browser to not remember any passwords for the rest of the month.

It sounds like you have got the latest Mac Malware virus I put a warning up about it over the weekend, but fool Mac users didn’t except what I was telling them every one said Macs don’t get viruses. It sends all your personal details to a sever in china it also downloads a key logger and logs everything you type into the systems If I remember right AV anti virus put out the warning, and said their free anti virus software got rid of it,

Never except that Macs don’t get viruses, they do My advice would be Install Linux on your Mac, or Android

Did you Jail Break your iPad?
If you did, you are probably using an application that is sending your data to another user.

Start with the device and the software you put on it. Did they all come from reliable sources.
Next, you might want to update the iPads OS and software to the latest builds.

If you are using a Web-Based email service, Change your password. Web-based emails get hacked all the time. I am constantly getting emails from people in regards to some sales pitch that they didn’t send. Look to a different email service or change you password on a regular basis to avoid getitng it cracked.
