Has anybody received their tax refund direct deposit before their scheduled date?

Asked by: 6717 views Finance - Taxes

Just now when I check the WMR website, it is saying:

Your tax refund is scheduled to be direct deposited on February 6, 2012. If your refund is not credited to your account by February 11, 2012, check with your bank to find out if it has been received. Please wait until February 11, 2012 before you contact us again because we are unable to take any action until then.

I am part of the 2/7 club and I was accepted on 1/19. Now, this is the same thing the IRS lady told me when I called the hotline yesterday but is it still possible that I could get it tomorrow? I have never gotten a DD on a Monday before, it’s always been on a Friday. If I don’t get it Friday though, will I definitely get it Monday?
When I spoke to the IRS lady yesterday, she told me they are issuing refunds Monday thru Friday. Apparently from what I’ve been hearing this is something new they are doing this year and in the past they issued refunds on Fridays. I’m not really sure, but I really hope I get my money tonight!

How Others Found Here:

  • Your tax refund is scheduled to be direct deposited on February 21 2012 If your refund is not credited to your account by February 26 2012 check with your bank to find out if it has been received Please wait until February 26 2012 before you contact us ag
  • will my refund hit tomorrow
  • my tax refund is approved can you receive it before the date they say

If you have a specific DD date then I would expect the money on that date. We were given a DD date of Feb 3rd. Nothing is in our account yet so I’m assuming it’s coming tomorrow.

I was in the 2/7 club and accepted on 1/19. On 1/29 in the morning WMR said my refund will be dd on 2/1. But that evening my refund was in my account. It really depends on your bank. I use Netspend so it was there as soon as it was released by the IRS.

Yes. … I am hopeful that we will get our direct deposits tomorrow. (Friday/Feb 3) I know that last year I got mine about 3 days early.

I think part of the reason they say Feb 6 is so that we don’t go into panic mode if the money hasn’t been credited to our accounts yet when we wake up. – Can you imagine how chaotic banks could get for the day if they were bombarded with worried customers?

Feb 11 gives a few more days for slow banks or for any errors to be caught and hopefully solved before we bombard the IRS with calls.

Edit: February 4, I got my refund around 12AM.

My refund was accepted 1/21, I had a Dd date of 2/1. I received an email saying my Dd date had been changed to 2/6. The IRS is using a new system to detect fraud. They are changing dates. You might not be receiving you’r refund on the original date you were given.

My coworker has a DD date of 02/06/12 according to the WMR site. However, she banks with a local credit union and her deposit already shows pending in her bank with a release date of 02/06/12! This tells me the IRS has already sent the funds but the banks are holding them. I thought the new system the IRS got was supposed to be more efficient. Prior years, DD was sent on Wed and always hit my bank by Fri. Now, looks like the IRS sent the refund on Wed but the bank holds until the DD the IRS specifies! Which for me is not until 02/06/12. Had they still been using the old system, my refund would be posted by tomorrow.

I check my WMR and it still says “We have received your tax return and it is being processed. Unless there is process delay or you owe others taxes, you should receive your refund by Feb, 07 2012″. They accept my Tax refund on the 19th of Jan. I don’t know what going on!

I was accepted on 1/20 but have had a 2/7date since wmr started showing my return on like 1/24. As of now 2/3 @ 8:39am the wmr site hasn’t changed 4 me & I still don’t have a dd date! But per irs my return is done being processed so wth is the problem that my refund hasn’t been depozited?? N the people I’ve talked 2 at irs have all been short, unfriendly & not willing 2 research my account 2 give me any exact info! Wow this years refunds are a nightmare! I’ve been efiling & dd wit irs since like 2003 n never have had any issue like this! I hope this year’s refund issue’s/delimea’s is strickly just this year & next year they have all this b/s cleared up!!

Mine still hasn’t changed from the generic 2/7/12! I’m so stressed out over this. I understand they are delayed, but I need that money now and I’m getting worried because lots of people keep posting that they have an actual dd date and I still don’t. I filed on 1/20/12 and was accepeted the same day.

My money is already being sent to my bank and I have a DD date of 2/6. (I filed on the 20th, was accepted same day) So it will likely be there tomorrow since I have a WM moneycard.

If you want to check if Santa Barbara Bank and Trust (the ones that issue refunds for the IRS) have received your refund for DD here’s the link: https://cisc.sbtpg.com/index.aspx

I too am part of the 2/7 club, I filed my return by 5am on 1/22 because my w2 was finally available to view that morning at 4am through my companies website… My return was accepted 5 hours later at 10 am! my refund status said on WMR until 2/1 that it was still being processed, but on the morning of 2/2 WMR finally changed and gave me a DD date of 2/6, which it is still stating… I haven’t tried calling my bank because I know they don’t hold IRS funds before posting them, I bank with Wells Fargo and have been with them for seven years! The banks that are most likely to hold funds before posting them are the small local banks that you can only find in any single town/city! The big Banking Companies normally don’t hold funds… especially IRS funds, because they know they are good for fully delivering once they come through! However, Tax prep companies such as, H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt, will hold your deposit at their banks before taking out any fees associated with using them or their software to file, then once they are done, and they have paid themselves, they redirect the remaining balance into the account you choose upon completing your return, either in person or online! Which is probably the most likely reason some of us are having to wait until the specified DD date on WMR, as appose to some of us getting our refund a little earlier than the specified DD date! There is an article on the H&R Block home page stating why refunds are being delayed for anyone who would like to read through it to obtain any closure on this unfortunate delay situation most of us are experiencing! But don’t stress too much people we are entitled to our refunds and we are sure to get them, granted we are having to wait longer than usual, but everyone will get theirs! 90% of people are receiving their refunds a week or less than the original DD dates on the IRS cycle chart, Good Luck everyone!

They posted a dd date for me, but I didn’t do a dd. I called IRS and I was told the dd is the day that my tax preparer would get it in their banks.

Anybody is worried about not getting a DD date and calls the IRS with no answer from them hopefully my story will help…Two years ago the processing date changed time after time with no DD date. I would call the IRS and get no answers. This happened for 7 months!! Finally they reffered me to a Tax Advocate (find the link on thier website) he expedited the problem and got my refund to me in a couple weeks which felt like nothing after waiting 7months. You dont have to wait as long as I did. I didn’t know you could get a tax advocate the moment you havent received your refund on time. If your processing date changes and no help from the IRS as to what the problem may be,…get a tax advocate! They are FREE (they work for IRS) and will save you so much worry and stress. We went through so much not having that extra money, and I would never want someone else to have the same problem!

No, I have not received anything yet.

My DD date is 02-03-2012 and it is now 02-04-2012 2:07AM PDT.

    * It’s strange I’ve been reading that some people received it on their actual DD date or even earlier, and I haven’t gotten mine yet — makes me a bit worried after hearing that. =[

My WMR updated from the generic message and I have a DD date on the next cycle 02/08/12. I am just happy that it finally changed from the 02/07. My bank is still not showing anything and I am hoping it does soon but this is better than what it was showing. Wishing you all a blessing and hoping your money posts soon. God Bless :)

Ok, idk if I need to call them or not. I used Turbo Tax. It was filed and accepted Jan 25. Turbo Tax said Feb 7th, IRS said Feb 14th (no big deal). But for the last 2 weeks it says it has been received and is being processed and that if I file a complete and accurate return I will receive my refund within 6 weeks of the filing date. It no longer gives a date. Could that mean it was stopped or there are issues?
