AVG has a good, free virus scanner that I have been using for years. (http://free.avg.com/)
Malwarebytes is a good scanner to have for spyware as well. (http://www.malwarebytes.org/)

personal firewall is microsoft security essentials antimalware is malwarebytes and site adviser is mcafee site adviser all free and compatible

yes dear you can find many free antivirus software on the internet but all are not trustworthy.. the best one is quickheal but its not free… i will provide a link for many free antivirus software which are trustful.. the link is..(juct copy and paste the link on your browser) :

Avast is working good for some extent but you need to update it periodically,but not as good as paid version

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good free anti-virus program. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials
While I still recommend you install both anti-virus program as well as anti-malware program.

There are many free antivirus available on the Internet. Some of them are below:
Immunet
AVG
Avast
Kaspersky
Norton
Microsoft Essential
But I personally recommend Immunet Antivirus-http://www.immunet.com/free/index.html . It is the best one.
