Can I sue someone for hacking into your accounts?

Asked by: 14 views Computer Security

My parents are going through a divorce and my dad is going crazy. He hacked into my mom’s facebook and shared her personal messages with everyone she was friends with (he thinks she was cheating) and he’s also writing to her friends telling lies about her (it’s humiliating). He also hacked into her google account and changed her password and recovery information to his cellphone number and email so she has no access to any of her emails. Can she sue him for invasion of privacy or anything?
To the “know it all” asshole below
people like you are annoying. He hacked into her email, went on facebook and said he “forgot his password” and had it sent to the email that he hacked and the computer he used was not his sense you think you now everything -__-
